There are a number of feature differences between Aura Professional and Aura Enterprise. One of these, IP allowlists/blocklists, is more restricted than other options and require some help on the backend. We're doing this because these settings have the potential to lock out your application (by putting in the wrong IP address(es) in the allowlist or blocklist). So while we finish creating some guardrails around those behaviors, we ask that customers requiring use of these features to open a Support ticket so that we can take care of it for you.
An IP allowlist specifies which IP addresses or networks are allowed to connect to your database. Conversely, blocklists prevent specific IP addresses or networks from connecting. In both cases, only IPv4 addresses are supported at this time. You can submit both individual IP addresses, as well as networks (in the form of CIDR blocks).
By default, all IP addresses are allowed and none are specifically blocked.
How to submit a request
To submit a request to update your allowlist/blocklist, simply open a new ticket with the subject "IP allowlist update". Be sure to include the target IP address(es) and/or networks, along with whether they should be explicitly allowed or blocked.
For example, if you want to block all connections by default but only allow connections from a certain IP address and one subnet, you would submit something like:
Once we've received your request it may take up to 24 hours for the change to be processed.
