With this article we are covering what to do should you wish to have your existing Aura instance or instances running on a different Cloud Service Provider (CSP).
At the current time it is not possible to move your existing Aura instances from one Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to another within a single operation.
In order to change CSP for your Aura instances, you will need to proceed by downloading a Dump for the instance or instances you wish to migrate from the current CSP (for example Google).
Please note: When you import a database Dump file to Aura, as part of the process, a consistency check is run to ensure the integrity and validity of the datastore. As most datastores contain indexes (for best performance) the consistency check will take longer to complete and if there are any issues found may cause a load to fail. We advise you instead drop indexes beforehand and rebuild them after loading the dump file, as this is far more efficient.
See Indexes - Capture / Drop / Recreate existing
Once you have downloaded a dump for the instance or instances you wish to move, the next step is to create a new instance or instances using the new CSP (for example AWS). At this point to reduce costs while moving, you might wish to consider pausing your original instance or instances.
The final step is to populate you new instance or instances by importing the dumps taken from your original instance or instances, to your newly created ones.
