Turn Off Public Access After Enabling Private Link

Neo4j Aura now allows you to set up AWS Private Link or GCP Private Connect to enhance the security of your databases. This allows you to run in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environment which takes your traffic off the public Internet. You can learn more about VPC isolation here. Once you have worked with support and received your endpoint you should turn off public access. This will ensure that your instance(s) is unavailable on the public Internet.

When you turn off public access, your applications will connect to Bolt URI like the following: abc123.orchestra101.neo4j.io. This will not work for Explorer (Bloom) or the Query tool (Browser). You will need to create a VPN so those applications can still use the Bolt URI abc123.databases.neo4j.io. 

When setting up VPC Private Link or GCP Private Connect you will work closely with a support engineer who will provide detailed instructions for each step of the process.
